HELP! My MLM sponsor quit…now I’m up this creek with no stinking paddle.

It can happen to anyone. You’ve joined a company and your MLM sponsor quits! All of the promises they made and support they were going to give you has vanished. You can take a moment and be upset. But, STOP right there. Your sponsor is not responsible for your success at all. The beauty of network marketing is that your income is not contingent on their success. Your success is contingent upon YOU.

So pick yourself up and dust yourself off. Here are a few excellent ways to put a paddle back in your hands to continue going upstream in your business. These are helpful whether your MLM sponsor quits or if they’ve played the Houdini trick and have simply disappeared. Whatever you do, don’t expect to be coddled by anyone. You must move forward on your own accord and get back on track

-Immediately find out who the leaders are in your company if you don’t already know. Perhaps you’ve met them at an event. Ask if you can join in on their team calls. One of their strong team members may be able to mentor you.

-Engross yourself in your company’s training. You might need to go back to the basics.

-Commit yourself to reading books on Mindset and branding YOU, INC. The best place to start for this is Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring.

-Make sure you go to websites like BetterNetworker.com. Here you can find network marketers from a multitude of countries, companies, backgrounds, and experiences. There’s excellent training available there. You can find reviews on companies, advice, tips, and so much more.

Make sure that you are committed to your current opportunity. If your sponsor quitting has put a bad taste in your mouth regarding your opportunity, then look for another one. Whatever you do, DON’T jump at the next big or best looking thing. This can be an empowering time for you. Do your due diligence to find what fits your needs best.

-Talk to people in companies that appeal to you. Connect with them on social media and find out what they like about their opportunity.

-Once you select a new opportunity for yourself, you can sponsor shop if you like. You might have seen someone on the internet, seen a video, or read an article of a potential sponsor that appeals to you. Get in touch with them.

The list goes on and on of things you can do when your sponsor quits. Even when you hand select a sponsor, things may not go as planned. Always be taking the steps to groom yourself as a leader. This way you will be adding value to your skill set everyday along the way.

The important thing to do is get back on track and play victim. This is a time to turn the situation around and develop your leadership skills and YOU, Inc. It’s one of the reasons why I have joined a community that ensures I’m not on my own regardless of my sponsor. Everyone likes being part of a team. These are great tips Susanna!! There are many network marketers (new & seasoned) who can relate to the problem of their sponsor quitting. Its definitely not the end of their career & its up to them to change their mindset & continue to strive for the prize!

Thanks Char. We need to realize that a sponsor is not going to make or break us. A good sponsor is there when you need them to answer any question and help.

Hey Susanna, great post and subject. l know few people that had that problem, but fortunately most of all networkers are great and helpful, no matter are you in their downline.I have personally spent time many times to help some people and they were already in another business opportunity, but hey – networking is all about relationship, connection and teamwork! Great job Susanna!

I loved this post. Can relate fully. I used to always think my sponsor was responsible for my success. I learned the hard way to empower myself and succeed no matter what my sponsor is or isn't doing. Thanks for sharing this.

        Cheers
        Marcus

        Susanna,

I haven't had that happen to me. So I guess I'm pretty lucky so far. You, Inc. is the most important part of network marketing by far. I actually just wrote a post today about what I do to work on personal development.

We all need to work at developing ourselves everyday. No matter what.
